BAGHDAD - Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki met with an officer of the American firm Caterpillar, on Wednesday, stressing that Iraq needs a quick fix to its woes power, a statement by the Prime Minister's Office said.

Maliki has called "the ministers, officials of the Ministry of Electricity and experts in the field of energy to meet with (Caterpillar) and discuss the projects presented to achieve the final results as soon as possible.
Potential subcontractors, suppliers and vendors will be judged on five key criteria, "said Jill Wilson, vice president of communications and marketing for Gray. The criteria are: most competitive price, the bidder's scope of work and experience, references, safety record, and financial performance and stability, "she said. Gray is facing a difficult construction schedule. Caterpillar officials have recently indicated they are planning to start production before the end of 2011, two to three months earlier than its initial projection.
