I have a friend who just loves bugs - especially beetles and caterpillars and butterflies. She likes looking at them, draw them, collect them when she is dead but still in good shape. His collection of beetles is quite extensive local, she said.
I do not remember exactly when I learned of his fascination with bugs. It may have been when she came to the sale of library books and asked me if I had not seen any books bug.
"Ah! A soul mate! "I thought at the time.
Since then, we often talked about bugs, just by the way, when I see it at work or our Zumba class.
A few months back I found a really nice big beetle on the carport that had expired. It was in great shape, antennae's included. Checking my Audubon Society Field Guide to North American Insects and Spiders, I found that it was a Giant Root Borer. Since I was going to be going be my friend's place of work the next day, I put in a jar with some padding and took it to her to add to her collection.

I felt when I saw the number of books lining the shelves at The Horn Book and when I got to edit and write copy flap for old and new favorite authors to Houghton Mifflin.I feel now when I realize a connection that I do in my novel in progress was there all the time, or when the book I suggest projects to the glow on a client. It is possible to feel burned at all, even children's books.
