The U.S. economy slowed considerably in the past four to five months. With the first quarter was revised down to 0.4% growth and preliminary estimates for the second quarter to 1.3%, the economy is close to stall (BEA release 26/08/11 ). I said last month that the U.S. economy is likely to remain slow but still grow at an annual rate of about 2%. Due to recently published statistics, I think now that the rate of growth for the global economy will slow to between 1 ВЅ% to 2%.
Manufacturing is still the only positive in the economy, but the latest PMI index shows that it was also slowed in recent months. Reading the latest PMI manufacturing (ISM, 01/09/11) is slightly lower, about 50.6, which shows still expanding, albeit at a slower pace. The shortage of parts from Japan caused by the earthquake and tsunami begins at home, which led to the expansion of automobile production in August. Otherwise, the downturn could be worse. Although the manufacturing sector has slowed, profit margins of manufacturers that have remained stable raw material costs have eased.
More importantly, the Sedona is now powered by 3.5 liter V6 Kia is rated at 271 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque. This represents a gain of 27 hp from the factory outgoing 3.8-liter, if the output torque is actually down five pounds-feet (we doubt you'll even notice). Power now operates through a six-speed automatic transmission, and because the Sedona retains its configuration before-wheel drive only, the Sienna is the only minivan to offer power to all four wheels. Visually, the Kia Sedona is now new corporate grille, and LED lights were added to the side mirrors.Aside from that, no other major update for 2011 have been made except to add Bluetooth connectivity standard across the model range. Prices start at $ 24,595 for the base Sedona LX, and all details are available in the press release by Kia, after the jump.
