Surprisingly, there are many good reasons to buy the Bluetec beyond the obvious: "I am a diesel guy."In fact, it is a luxury sedan than non-diesel buyers should test-drive, because it shows us why the diesel engine is the powerplant of choice for many Europeans.
First, throw some old prejudices to rest. Diesel engines do not rattle horribly and fill the air exhaust more stinky. This 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel runs on cleaner, ultra-sulfur fuel and spent the most robust tests of air quality, thanks largely to the injection of urea, which minimizes exhaust particles. Edmunds tests also revealed that robust sedan pushes 4242 pounds at 60 mph from a stop 7.7 seconds, and the car feels like it could swallow up the motorway every day at any speed you want.
