I tend my own garden, as Voltaire would we all do, and guess what?

"Voltaire" was his pen name!

His real name was Francois Marie Aronet. Probably the "Mary" thing was pushed into the pen name thing whole.

Anyway, I like yard work so I do four days a year.

Two days when the fall is soon upon us.

Two days when / if we survive the winter and can feel the dreaded waft of the promise of nature:

The spring and summer will return.

But not before I got the Christmas lights tangled strands of ivy (I call it the choke in Ohio) that festive festoon my yard. So sure of himself, as ivy, if persistent and rampant.

Girls' Weekend - Year Five!

Since we graduated college, Neera, Janet and I met once a year for a weekend girls. In 2007, we had a Caribbean cruise in 2008 we went to Savannah, Ga., in 2009 we went to Santa Fe, NM, and in 2010 we gathered for New Year's Eve in Austin TX (and won all our significant others). It was five years (the 2011 trip, even if it's technically still 2010). This is a year very exciting because we are now all engaged, and we are all getting married this summer (Jeff and me at the end of May, Janet and Dan in July, and Neera Shreyas and August).We are present and / or the marriages of others, and it's really exciting to plan things together and talk about the joys and challenges of wedding planning. Janet arrived in Boston, and I came from DC. There are not many flights in Bloomington, Illinois (which was an airport nearby Neera suggested), while Janet and I ended up meeting in Detroit and catch the same flight to Illinois.
