Sanford - Home Improvement Lowe, whose shop was destroyed in Sanford by a tornado on April 16, will celebrate a grand reopening Thursday with appearances by the radio host and beach music fans of Yolanda Adams Presidents Council.
The tornado in Lee County killed two people, about 50 injured and destroyed nearly 100 homes. He was one of several deadly tornadoes that tore across the state that day.
A store manager for Lowe was credited with helping to save lives by opening the customers and employees in the back of the store as the tornado struck. No employees were injured.
The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10 hours at the store at 3015 S. Boulevard Horner., With Lowe charitable and educational announcements Foundation grants and comments from officials.
