Juan Pablo Montoya, NO. 42 CHEVROLET TARGET, QUALIFIED 10th: QUALIFICATION OF ITS EFFORT: "As bad as we were in practice, we were really good. For failing to drive the car with this setup, yes, I am happy with that. I mean, I knew a little about what was done to the car, what to expect from the car, I would have been a little better. But, you know, I'm pretty happy. Our Target Chevy and everybody, all the boys, have been doing a really good job. They’ve been working really hard at this. We struggled today, all morning. This was the first time the car feels pretty good. Pretty pumped for the race.
CONCORD, NC - Josh Richards registered a very rewarding event of déjà vu in Sunday night.
As the 22-year-old sensation from Shinnston, West Virginia, accepted the $ 100,000 World of Outlaws Late Model championship series of checks, the trophy and the ring of remembrance for the second consecutive year during the national tour of "Night of Champions" Banquet at the Great Wolf Lodge, he had to remember that the schedule had changed.
"If feels as if we were just here last year," said Richards, when he began his speech to participants of the gala evening. "It's pretty cool to get to come here again (so fast)."
Richards stood before the assembly that the first driver to win two titles in the modern age of seven years of the LMS Woo, who was revived after a layoff of 15 years in 2004 under the banner of the Group race.He won the prestigious crown of 24 hours earlier than a mile off the dirt track in Charlotte, where his fourth place in the season-ending 50-lap A-Main in the World of Outlaws Lowes Foods World Finals Presented by Bimbo Bakeries and Snacks Tom gave him a margin of just four points over 2008 series champion Darrell Lanigan of Union, Ky.
