Hiatt Goes 'Caveman' on new CD, results anything but primitive

- Considering John Hiatt entered her new CD, "Hymns Jeans Mudslide dirty," knowing that his new material was leaning toward a mix of acoustic-centered pop, blues and Americana, it seemed an odd choice to Kevin Shirley to produce it.

That produced acts like Aerosmith and Ozzy Osbourne, Shirley was nicknamed "Caveman." But Hiatt knew there was more to Shirley that the hard rock.

"We loved working together," he said. "It was just the perfect match. It is like the fifth Beatle, for the love of Christ. The guy is like another musician. He plays the studio.The first thing he does is the studio gets the path. There is nothing valuable information on the vehicle or the microphone or the computer or Mike or preamp or any of that crap. It helps you do just a performance and making music is so good and the complicity of spontaneous music. "With" Hymns Jeans Mudslide dirty "now in stores, he returns to the project as the most fun he ever had in the studio." I could not have done this album without him, "said Hiatt . "He brought the best of the band and I think we've done something really special.

Christmas is approaching .... so excited. We spent last night and today is Christmas decorations and other things ready. I want to thank mom for me to take such a Christmas freak. I love it - every party. I like putting music, lights put - - this. I love Amanda for putting up with my grouchiness last night - no idea where it came from.
