Al Qathafi fortresses are under attack
(NY Times) - The Libyan rebels started what they call large-scale attacks to subdue the recalcitrant Loyalists and Bani Walid Sirte on Friday night, breaking their own deadlines for submission after taking enemy fire.
"It's full steam ahead now," said Abdulrahman Busin, a spokesman for the rebel army.
Some rebels were reported within the Bani Walid, a Small town 90 miles south of the capital, Tripoli. The attack on Tripoli, one of the largest cities of Libya, had just begun and the rebels were still on the periphery, M. Busin said.
They are two of the four communities still under the control of forces loyal to Colonel Muammar Al Qathafi.
